Cynthia Perez is a New York City-based graphic designer and Sedalia, Mo. native who graduated magna cum laude from MU with a BFA in graphic design in 2017. She currently is on staff at Warner Music Artist Services, where she works on the digital assets and design needs for groups like All Time Low, Earl Sweatshirt, and The Flaming Lips. Perez created the designs for AIR’s September 2020 “In Focus: Poetry” project, a celebration of the addition of the Department of English and literary arts to the AIR effort. Her designs of excerpted poetry, written by MU alumni, were created as large-scale nighttime projections on facades of select campus buildings.
Also part of her fall 2020 semester AIR, Perez mentored graphic design students as they created original works for the Tigers Support Tigers campaign, a partnership with MU’s Joint Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing. The public art was projected onto select campus buildings for five evenings in September.
